FOR SALE

Before you purchase any animal please consider that some of these animals may live for many years and be certain that you are committed to giving them the best possible quality of life. Many animals have been victims of "trends" and once the novelty wore off have been dumped by owners who merely got tired of them or were not able to give the animal the specialized care it needed.  Examples are pot bellied pigs, iguanas, parrots, dalmatians and snakes. Zoos do not want your unwanted exotic animal. If they accepted all that were offered to them they would be overflowing. Other breeding facilities may not want your unwanted animal. It is not acceptable to turn them loose thinking that they can survive in the wild. Being in captivity they have lost the skills to hunt for food or protect themselves, and the climate may not be what they can live in. Be sure that you can afford the necessary food for the animal you acquire. Some species need a specialized diet that may be expensive. Provide the proper pen or enclosure. Some species do not require much space while others are more active and need room to run. Some species require more attention from their owners to stay tame than others. Think about who will care for this animal while you're on vacation or away on business. Remember that this cute, fuzzy baby animal will grow up! Before you buy ASK QUESTIONS and DO RESEARCH on the animal you think you're interested in. You can gain valuable  information from the internet and by talking to breeders. Beware of animal brokers who don't actually raise animals themselves but merely buy and sell. Their interest is not in the animals, it's in the income. If you are inquiring about an animal and the owner cannot seem to give you much information, or if something doesn't seem right with the animal or owner  FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO BUY FROM. I cannot stress this enough. "They said it makes a great house pet!"  "They wouldn't return my phone calls and seemed too busy to answer my questions after I bought it."  "They said these animals are rare and I might not find another opportunity to buy one." "It was sooo cute I just had to have it."  These are comments I've heard far too often. Learn about the animal long before you purchase it. Also keep in mind that many species of animals have a strong herding instinct and will not be happy if kept alone. In many cases a companion animal does not have to be of the same species. We have successfully kept many of our animals in mixed groups.  If after these considerations you are committed to giving an exotic animal or miniature livestock the best possible home, you will find the addition of animals to your life very rewarding and fulfilling. We feel that our lives would be empty without our animals, and seeing them at the end of a difficult day is the best therapy and stress relief we know.

WHEN PURCHASING AN ANIMAL PLEASE REALIZE THAT MOST SPECIES OF ANIMALS HAVE A  STRONG HERDING INSTINCT AND WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF ALONE.  DON'T BUY JUST ONE ANIMAL AS A PET AND THINK THAT YOU WILL GIVE IT ENOUGH ATTENTION FOR IT TO BE CONTENT. A COMPANION ANIMAL DOESN'T HAVE TO BE OF THE SAME SPECIES, WE SUCCESSFULLY KEEP MIXED GROUPS OF ANIMALS TOGETHER.

Also, when inquiring about animals via email be sure to put something in the subject line of your email that lets me know your email is animal related. Due to the large volumes of junk email that we all are plagued with, emails that have nothing in the subject line or contain  words that make it appear the email is not related to animals are automatically deleted. Thanks!
